BN B9 - Track Measuring car

Built by Pullman in 1920, it was later purchased by the GN, numbered 1083 and converted by them for "Gopher/Badger" service. It continued in this service until AMTRAK's take over in 1971. With AMTRAK not wanting a 50 year old car, it was declared surplus and waited at Como Shops until 1973 when it was converted into a Track "Measuring" car. It continued in this service until 1983, when it was rehabilitated, given a bay window and called a Track "Geometry" car. Giving another 10 years of service it was finally scrapped and replaced by the BNA7, Kootenai River "Research & Test" car.
