Mr. Richard Baker of Topeka, KS contacted Gary Seymour, FOBNR Secretary, asking
about making a donation to our archive. Following further communication with
Gary, Mr. Baker made a generous donation to The Friends of the Burlington Northern
Railroad. The gift consists of 853 train orders from 114 locations on the BN system
and covering the 25 years of the BN's existence. These items will now rest in the
FOBNR archive in North St. Paul, MN. Mr. Baker informs us that he will be sending
more of these train orders in the future. Items such as these help us to preserve
the nuances, the character and the flavor of the BN in its daily operations. The
researcher who wishes to write about BN dispatching details will want to look at
these little treasures.
The BN archive continues to grow and we will welcome donations to our collection.
The FOBNR is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible following
IRS rules.
